Work with File Sets

If you have Result Files that are of particular interest to the Study, you can save these as one or multiple result sets. These can be reports, such as QC reports, or Result Files such as labeled scRNA-seq files of an automated pipeline or new result files saved in an IDE using the "saveFiles" method.

To create a File Set, you must first find the files of interest using a 'result files' query in Advanced Search. Next you can select the files and save them.

You can add friendly file names as well as descriptions to the files in a File Set. It is always useful to describe to your collaborators what the File Set contains, and is especially important if you plan to publish the data to public HISE.

Create a File Set

To create a File Set, navigate to Advanced Search and create a query. Once you have a list of Result Files, you can select the desired files like you would when getting a code snippet to download files. But instead of selecting “Get IDE Scripts”, select “Save files”. Once selected, you will be prompted whether you want to create a new file set or add to an existing set. When editing a file set in a Study, you have the ability to add descriptive file names and any necessary descriptions. Hit “Submit” once you’re done, and you should see an entry in the "File Set" tab in the Study you selected to save the files to.

Download File Sets

File Sets are a great way to share a collection of data for others to analyze or use as a starting point for their own analysis. To download a created File Set, navigate to a Study and select the "File sets" tab. You will see a list of file set entries with information about them like title, description, and file count. To download a file, select “IDE Script” for the file set of interest and you will see a code snippet with a list of file Ids that you can copy and paste into a HISE IDE.
